Volvo has announced a new, upcoming update on their Volvo On Call smart app that will allow drivers to control their cars using a smart watch.
Once the updated version of the app rolls out, Volvo drivers will be able to lock or unlock their car, control its settings, and pinpoint its location (such as in a crowded parking lot) simply by tapping on their smart watches.
“Volvo On Call is an app that allows you to literally take control over everyday elements in your Volvo,” David Holecek, the company’s Director of Connected Products and Services, explains in a press release. “You can set heater timings for those cold and frosty mornings or cool down your car in hot weather, check your fuel level and mileage, or time to next service. It even helps you to locate your car in a crowded parking garage.”
The update will reportedly be released by the end of this month.
