There’s a rumor going around that Twitter is planning on not counting photos and links as part of its 140-character limit. For avid power users, this means more space for sharing information and hashtags!
Currently, a single photo takes up 24 characters while a link takes up 23 characters, however short the link actually is. But a Bloomberg report cites sources and reveals this alleged future update. It’s just in time, as Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey just said a few months ago that they were experimenting with how text is displayed on the platform.
So, true or false?
“We don’t comment on rumors or speculation,” was all a Twitter spokesperson said to Mashable when asked about the reported change.
We hope they’re simply deflecting in order to surprise all of us!
